This jacket is our top choice for rapier and smallsword training at our school. Its sleek design closely resembles a Renaissance doublet, combining style with mobility. However, it has no padding for impact absorption, so we strongly recommend using additional protective gear such as elbow protectors and a gorget.
Important: This jacket features buttons instead of a zipper. To ensure optimal protection and fit, please specify whether you are right- or left-handed when ordering.
JF Jacket 350N was based on the model produced by Jessica Finley. It was created with the intention of making a lightweight jacket, an alternative to heavier equipment, such as AP or FG.
It is designed for light HEMA training. It is suitable for both men and women who exercise with or without a wooden simulator.
This jacket has a very close cut (especially at the waist). It is fastened with ten flat metal buttons. It has a high collar and loose sleeves.
The look of the JF resembles old fencing kaftans.
In addition, the fabric used for production has 350N puncture resistance. The buttons used in the JF jacket are flat and easy to fasten. They do not stick out from the body, which reduces the risk of damage to the jacket.
Two layers of fabric and double seams guarantee its durability.
Fitted cut ensures that the product does not move during training. The material used and spacious sleeves ensure comfort and freedom of movement.
Product designed for HEMA. It is dedicated to the imitation of historical clothing and armour. It is not personal protective equipment. The "350N", “800 N” and “HEMA GEAR” marks are not equivalent or susbstitute for “FIE-CE” certification. Depending on fields of applications, additional personal protective equipment may be necessary according to the specific regulations for that activity.
