"The Shell and glove takes a minimum of 1 month to "break-in". They will feel ultra stiff and unusable until they are broken-in.  

Shell can be used for Heavy Padded Gloves and Padded Gloves, but not recommended for safety reasons . The shell makes the HGC Heavy Padded and Padded gloves much more protected than without, but one hit in-between a plate can be very unsafe. We are currently experimenting using HGC Padded gloves with the shell inside basket hilts that don't have baskets. - Phil Swift "
